Dark grey is the adult choice.
A deep grey dial that shifts between charcoal and gunmetal depending on where you are standing, framed by a silver fluted bezel and carried on a silver jubilee bracelet.
Grey is what you land on after you have owned a black watch and a white one. It is warmer than black, less obvious than blue, and it makes a plain jumper look deliberate. People notice the watch before they notice the colour.
A proper mechanical heart
Inside sits the Seiko NH35 automatic: 21,600 beats per hour, hacking seconds, hand-winding, about 41 hours of power reserve. No battery, ever. It winds itself off the motion of your arm, and any watchmaker on earth can service it.
Around it, a stainless steel case in 36mm, 39mm or 41mm and a sapphire crystal that laughs off the scrapes daily life hands out. The dark grey dial carries a date display.
| Movement | Seiko NH35 automatic, 21,600 bph, approx. 41-hour power reserve |
| Case | Stainless steel, 36mm, 39mm or 41mm |
| Dial | Dark grey, date display |
| Bezel | Fluted, silver tone |
| Bracelet | Jubilee-style stainless steel |
| Crystal | Sapphire |
| Water rating | 5 ATM |
What this price actually buys
The watch this design echoes sells for more than fifty times this price, and a routine service on it costs more than this entire watch. Here, one price buys the whole thing: a genuine Seiko automatic under sapphire, built to order for you and regulated by hand. Nobody needs to know what it cost. That part is yours.
Pick your size above and start your build. You will get photos of your finished watch before it ships. Then you will get the watch.
Why collectors call it the Wimbledon
The Seiko Wimbledon is the nickname for this exact Datejust colourway: a slate grey dial with Roman numerals picked out in green, named for the lawns of the tennis championship. A Seiko Wimbledon mod puts that look on a genuine Seiko automatic, here framed by a fluted bezel on a jubilee bracelet, the full classic recipe. The story behind the nickname is in our Wimbledon dial guide.

Went with the Wimbledon because I already have a couple of blue and black watches and wanted something different. Really like the grey dial in person and it’s surprisingly easy to match with what I wear. Only thing I needed to do was adjust the bracelet to get the fit right, but since then I’ve had no issues. Gets a lot of wrist time.
Questions people ask before ordering
Is this a real watch or a fake?
It is a real watch and an original Rosevari build. Inside is a genuine Seiko automatic movement; the case, sapphire crystal and dial are parts we choose and stand behind. A fake is sold as the genuine article. Every Rosevari is sold openly as exactly what it is, a custom Seiko mod, with every part disclosed.
Is it automatic?
Every watch runs a genuine Seiko movement. GMT models use the self-winding NH34 automatic with an independently set GMT hand, datejust styles use the NH35 automatic, and chronograph builds use the VK63 meca-quartz. The exact movement for this watch is named in the specifications above.
How much does it cost?
This build is $289.00 AUD with free shipping. Prices are shown in Australian dollars for Australian customers, and there are no extra charges at checkout for AU orders.
How long until it is on my wrist?
Every watch is made to order. Build and dispatch times are set out in our Shipping Policy. If it arrives faulty, damaged in transit, or not what you ordered, we repair, replace or refund it and pay the postage both ways.
